It looks romantic and photogenic but this wonderful lighting is caused by horrible amounts of dust kicked up from dirt roads. Trampled by horse carts and occasionally watered down by merchants along the sidewalk, the dust lingers all day and evening, until traffic ceases. The extra long sleeves in the mans' coat are used as hand warmers.
