Carved stone house
Jaisalmer, Rajastan, India
In the old trading town and oasis of Jaisalmer in the desert of Rajastan, the homes are carved yellow limestone. Old parts of the town display this remarkable craftsmanship around windows and doors. The homes are still functional -- cool in summer. Inside kids peek out to watch the crazy white guy roam the streets at noon.
