It's not uncommon for simple stone/wood Tibetian farmhouses of the poorest farmer to be elaborately decorated inside with the most eye-popping colors and psychodelic patterns. This is a fairly typcial living room. The gold cylinders are tea bowls. Folks sit on carpets on each side. The best part of this timeless scene, of course, is the TV right at the center of the alter.
